Safe AI systems and public trust: Workshop (October 23)

Canada’s next chapter in AI is being written now.

Join us on Thursday, October 23 at 1 p.m. ET for an interactive AccessPrivacy workshop aligned with Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada’s (ISED) public engagement on the renewed AI strategy, focused on building safe AI systems and strengthening public trust.

Co-chaired by Adam Kardash and Eloïse Gratton, LL.D., ICD.D. of Osler’s National Privacy and Data Management Group, this two-hour online session will feature a moderated discussion with experts across Canada’s AI ecosystem, with opportunities for attendee Q&A and recommendations in English or French.

The event will be recorded and submitted to ISED to inform the consultation process and will help organizations and trade associations frame their own submissions.

Observers invited from the AI Strategy Task Force (safety and public trust stream) include:
Joelle Pineau, Chief AI Officer, Cohere
Mary Wells, Dean of Engineering, University of Waterloo
Owen T., Founding Director, Center for Media, Technology and Democracy
Doyin Adeyemi, JD/MBA candidate, University of Toronto and 1834 Fellow

If you’re a stakeholder in Canada’s AI future, we encourage you to take part and share your perspective.
